Elders

Summary
Purpose

Elders are an extension of the pastoral office, and as such, must be male voting members of the congregation(1Tim.3:8-13)

They assist with serving communion, leading services in the pastor’s absence, and act as a point of contact for all the groups of the church on behalf of the pastor.

Elders encourage the spiritual well-being of all church members. They work under the guidance of the pastor to help shape the spiritual life of the church.

Elders act as a support for the pastor, and a liaison between the congregation and the pastor
